Professor and Classmates: My Topic is "Fostering Dreams and Positive Identities for Children living in poverty and or Foster Care". Research Questions: 1. Would positive experiences such as field trips and sporting activities, cotillions and mentoring programs change the future for children in the foster care system? 2. Should foster families be required to save a percentage of the payments they receive, in an account for the foster children in their care, to provide to the child when they reach eighteen? 3. Would free entrance to training camps for entrepreneurship, life skills training and college entrance exam training ensure that children living in poverty and or in foster care will thrive in the world once they reach adulthood? Thesis Statement: Increased government funded programs, specifically designed for children who live in the foster care system or under the poverty threshold to foster dreams and create positive identities for children could end childhood poverty and the vicious cycle of government induced, family separation.
