3. Do you think you’d like to work on Plum Island? Why or why not? I would not like to work on Plum Island because it is a big location that is filled with various different diseases. It would cause much paranoia that I could potentially contract a disease by simply being in there. But on the other hand it would be very interesting to learn about the diseases and find measures that could help with the prevention and or cure for many. 4. Why do you think veterinary science is also important to public health? What factors do you think make veterinary science important to public health and safety? Veterinary science is important to public health because many of the diseases that are found within animals can be passed onto humans. And the study of them can greatly prevent the risk and create safety towards our health. Also a great portion of our population’s diet contains animals and or animal products. And we want to make sure that what we are consuming is completely healthy. 5. What historical aspect/event do you think most influenced the development of veterinary science? Why? A historical aspect that greatly influenced the development of veterinary science would be transportation. Back in time animals such as horses and oxs were used to travel and or for working measures. Such as oxs plowing fields. Since animals were very prominent in everyday life the health and well being of them was a very important factor.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
