must be maintained unless the patient is making statements of self-harm. In instances where there are power outages or internet connectivity problems in a student’s home, they must adapt and use these resources in school when necessary. Schools have generators, landlines and other resources for internet besides wireless connectivity when these mishaps occur. Patient Confidentiality and Privacy ProtectionsThe Vila Health model mentions a key issue which is maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy. Mental health is not always something that is openly talked about between students 4

A way to make this less transparent could be to allow students to utilize the mental health services during their study halls or lunch breaks in a private room away from other student classrooms. They could also utilize these services before or after school hours if their transportation allowed it. A study conducted by AHC MEDIA (2020) found that weekly incidents reported in the media have shown that privacy and security are lagging in the healthcare sector. This study further showed that when participants were asked what they would do if their personal health data was compromised, 48% said they would not utilize telehealth. “A healthcare provider can engage in a telehealth session on a device that is fully secure, but if that telehealth session is conducted in an area where unauthorized people can see or hear the interaction, the patient’s privacy is subject to compromise” (AHC MEDIA, 2020, p. 2). Secure internet connections and data encryption are essential to maintaining patient privacy (AHC MEDIA, 2020). Care providers should follow defined health insurance portability and accountability (HIPAA) laws in conjunction with HIPAA-enabled telehealth applications. Providing patients with documents that are similar to an informed consent to outline how telehealth works along with the pros and cons of telehealth can help to deal with these concerns. Impact of Internal and External Stakeholders Stakeholders are necessary for the success of telehealth. Stakeholders necessary for the success of telehealth are from schools, hospitals, health systems, primary care physician offices, specialist offices and federally qualified health centers (Sokol, 2020). With more stakeholders, more resources can be made available to these students. Internal resources are needed in the 5
