obtaining insert plasmid versus the vector, as indicated by the relative intensity of color on well 9. The brighter the color the more DNA there is. It appears that the insert, or opdgene, traveled farther than the vector, the pUC19 plasmid, which is consistent with the logical assumption that the item which is being inserted into the vector must be lighter than the vector itself to have accurate result or required outcome. Conclusion I think that the experiment was successful overall, because the opdgene traveled much further ahead on the gel than the pUC19 plasmid, confirming the gene’s smaller size compared to the plasmid. However, the band from well 10 is brighter than the one from well 9, which indicate much more product was isolated. The outcome of this experiment was also consistent with my overall result as a result of my opdgene that was multiplied in the PCR machine during the prior lab, so it would make sense that the band containing this insert would be brighter than the plasmid(vector).
As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
