[SHORTENED TITLE UP TO 50 CHARACTERS] 2 To be successful at active listening there are certain guidelines to follow, first You want to pay attention to who is speaking to you, don’t look at your cell phone, have open posture, process what the person is saying so you have an intelligent response to add to your conversation, be respectful. Always stay open, do not be dismissive and judgmental, be open to new ideas and perspectives, allow the person speaking to finish what they are saying before you judge their ideas and close your mind. Paraphrasing is huge, the number one way to truly believe that someone is listening and understanding what you are saying is to restate what they said, it confirms that you are hearing what they say and that your taking the time to understand.
