practice we need to include them in the decision processes. Healthcare employees know first-hand how the process functions and will have the best ideas on how to improve it. Rather than making the changes and expecting staff to follow allow them to create the changes to be involved. Focusing mainly on cost rather than quality will ultimately increase costs, is also true in healthcare .In the past, at my facility, we experienced mandatory training on how to treat patients. This was absurd in my and most other’s opinions. If you treat your employees well, they will treat your patients well in my opinion. Happy employees will increase patient satisfaction by providing quality friendly care. I believe the culture has shifted greatly in the last 5 years. I believe we are now a culture that is working towards Deming’s vision. We currently utilize councils to address problems and determine changes. By allowing the staff to have input into the decisions we have increased morale and improved buy-in from staff when tough decisions must be made. Hunter, J. (2012). The greatest waste. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
