A similar exercise was carried in early 2013 out
in connection with focus on other PA managing
institutions, namely Seychelles National Parks
Authority (SNPA) and Island Conservation
Society (ICS), as well as the UNDP-GEF
Program Coordination Unit (PCU). Results were
averaged and are as follows:

There is need to carry out the exercise on
targeting the entities directly involved in PA
management and benefitting from the project,
namely (1) Nature Seychelles (NS); (2) Marine
Conservation Society of Seychelles (MCSS); (3)
Seychelles Islands Foundation (SIF); and (4)
Green Islands Foundation (GIF).

are supposed to coincide with
the MTR and TE, so that the
application and results of the

Furthermore,

lot of the indicators required
to carry out the METT are yet

There is no progress so far
towards the indicator.
The
last gazettal of PAs to happen
in Seychelles was that of
terrestrial part of Silhouette
and the numbers have already
taken this into considerations
in the baseline (cross-
checking
with
SNPA).
Silhouette island counted
already with a marine park

of
Silhouette
Island’s
terrestrial area was declared a

Baseline studies for the
current and potential new
terrestrial and marine PAs
have only just begun; as
project progresses, this target
will be clearly visible.
