Immigration Acts of 1921 &1924-
 These laws were laws used to regulate how many of ea. come in ( social
engineering )
 They used immigration quotas to keep track
 Wanted to limit the Puerto Ricans from coming into the country but couldn’t
because technically they are citizens.
 Both of these did not apply to Mexicans however due to the fact that they needed
them for labor.
Literacy act of 1917 –
 Anyone who was not literate in English could not enter the U.S.
