Some of these main ideas include;The biological understanding of the responses to fear and experiences of freightThe role negative effect plays in the perception of fearThe attraction of fear of watching scary moviesThe motivations that enable one to experience the fear responseThe psychological response an individual has made him or her feel attracted to watching scary movies and films.Individuals affect to watching a scary movieGenders specific fears attributing to watching horror moviesGender and loneliness as better predictors of fear when watching horror movies compared to personality traitsThe difference in surroundings where one watches a horror film which has an impact on the perception of fear

Accordingto Adolph (2013), every individual has been afraid of giving us the ability to recognize fear in other animal species. No consensus exists in how fear is studied scientifically and the only way we can address the topic is through using a logical approach. The argument of many is that fear can only be described as a psychological construct rather than something that can be discovered through scientific studies. Furthermore, the concept of fear cannot be fully applied to animals since we cannot determine whether animals can experience anxiety. The literature also reviews the functional theory of fear by describing the emotions in terms of being caused by particular patterns of threat-related stimuli. From experiencing such sentiments, a person may react differently. For instance, he or she may experience patterns of adaptive behavior that makes the person cope with the threat or avoid facing it.
