(Brinkley 482). They helped build things such as roads, schools, hospitals, etc. They also did this for the Philipians. For Filipinos of all social classes, the Taft Commission provided education and vocational training. Farren 4 As I have mentioned previously, Imperialism stood for America becoming the biggest power in the world, including their territories and a huge capital gain in trade. I also talked about how Anti-Imperialists believed that imperialism was unconstitutional, because of the fact that America was founded on not being squashed underneath a dominant world power. I believe that imperialism is a very important part of our nation’s history in becoming a world power; Because of this, it’s important to talk about how it has affected us in today’s world. The Chicago Global Affairs Council noted last April that, in the Trump era as well, ' a majority of Americans of all political stripes said that America should remain active in world affairs. ' But Mr. Trump's election shows that politicians can't take that ratio for granted: if they don't give domestic priority. An example of this is the rumors amongst Iran retaliating against Trump. If Trump isn’t careful with this, it can cause another World War and many casualties, not only for American people but also people around the world. Works Cited Brinkley, Alan, et al.
