A child diagnosed with ADHD (medication prescribed is Adderall 5 mg daily. Adderall is a combination of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine is used to treat ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) cases in both adults and children. People with ADHD are thus helped in increasing their attention spans and in controlling their activities. levels of dopamine (a brain chemical) are increased by the Adderall drug. This, therefore, stimulates a focusing and calming effect to the affected. The sage typically starts with 5mg and eventually increases though it is best preferred one should work with the lowest effective possible dosage. In some cases, Adderall is abused because it triggers increased attention or alertness, a euphoric feeling among people who take the drug without any medical reason. Children may develop some psychotic symptoms such as having delusions and hallucinations. Any allergies need to be explained to the doctor to avoid the adverse effects of the drug. Some of the stimulants in Adderall may delay development and growth in children (Zaza et al, 2017). One also ought to check out for overdosage effects such as loss of consciousness, fevers and rapid breathing (Zavala et al, 2017). One should also be careful about the type of foods that he/she is taking and other over the counter drugs to avoid bad reactions.
