variables in sociological research. Provide an example of both.

An example of an independent and dependent variable situation would be how
scarce economic opportunity affects crime rates in a given area. In this scenario
low paying jobs would be the independent variable and the crime rate would be the
dependent variable.
I find myself experiencing my own form of research study by the amount I
sleep and my level of agitation. In this scenario how, much sleep I get is the
independent variable and my level of agitation is the dependent variable. The less
sleep I get the more agitated I usually am the next day.
