This compromise could come in the form of a direct cyber-attack, viruses acquired from personal computers or data mining. 6 IT 412 Milestone 1 to be unrecognizable. The data is thrown away in a manner that gives the culprit full access to all the patient’s information in an easy to read format. ABC Healthcare is unable to efficiently regulate the sanctity of their network without an official policy governing the use of their network and integrity of patient files. Having a policy in place would clearly state employee expectations, guidelines, rights and access privileges to use and view PII. This policy would also define consequences for misuse of the system. The use of a hidden camera without employee knowledge may result in a breach of employee privacy. The specific laws governing the use of a hidden camera would depend on the state that ABC Healthcare operates in. Typically, if the camera is used in a public setting with a need to know, and is only used to monitor specific work activities, (specifically not used in restrooms or break rooms). Without notifying your employees of the recording, there is a potential for a lawsuit to occur stemming from the violation of privacy.
