For, if the patient results fall outside of the reference ranges, it can be concluded that abnormalities are in the patient sample. When evaluating the QC results, it was found that the QC level 3 value that was obtained was within one standard deviation of the mean value of the reference range at 4.108 g/dl since the acceptable range for the QC value was between 3.2 g/dl and 4.8 g/dl and the mean was 4.00 g/dl; however, the QC level 1 value that was obtained presented a problem.
