Albuterol- Beta2-adrenergic agonists. It relaxes muscles in the airways and increases air flow to the lungs. It used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease. It is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.

Drug Name Trade/Generic Classification Uses Adverse Reactions Contraindications &/or Precautions Patient Management Issues Dose Range Generic Name: albuterol inhalation Brand Names: Accuneb, ProAir HFA, Proventil, Proventil HFA, ReliOn Ventolin HFA, Ventolin HFA Beta2-adrenergic agonists -relaxes muscles in the airways and increases air flow to the lungs. -treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease. - prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm. -shakiness -racing heartbeat -Dizziness -feeling of warmth -irritability -nausea -redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest -sleeplessness -trouble with holding or releasing urine -trouble sleeping -heart disease -high blood pressure -congestive heart failure -a heart rhythm disorder -a seizure disorder such as epilepsy -diabetes -overactive thyroid. -Avoid getting this medication in your eyes -if first time, spray 4 test sprays into the air -Shake well before priming. -prime the inhaler if you have not used it for 2 weeks or longer, or if you have dropped the inhaler. -If you use more than one inhalation at a time, wait at least 1 minute before using the second inhalation and shake the inhaler again.
