This is not always the case. Not all people who suffer from type one diabetes are overweight. The body type and their lifestyle all plays an important role in this. They also believe that if a person has diabetes they do not take care of themselves. The impact of diabetes on the health care resources is stronger now than ever. Doctor and researchers are working hard to find new treatments and medications that will help fight diabetes better than the ones we have today. Researchers continue to work on new medications. Medications used to Fight Diabetes Metformin Metformin is used to treat high blood sugar levels that are caused by a type of diabetes mellitus or sugar diabetes. It is often used with type 2 diabetes but can be used for type 1 diabetes. Insulin Insulin is a hormone; a chemical messenger produced in one part of the body to have an action on another. It is used to help lower the glucose levels. It is given by injection and patients are taught how to give it to themselves. SOLIQUA SOLIQUA 100/33 is an injectable prescription medicine that contains 2 diabetes medicines, insulin glargine and lixisenatide, that may improve blood sugar.
