He’s a liar- plays the good Muslim son at home but look what he was up to: Proof of bad character Jay’s Story: 12:30- 19:00 Feb 8 th 1999 arrested Adnan after Jay spoke with the police 2nd recorded version: went shopping with Adnan; talked and Adnan said that he was going to kill Hae Morning Adnan picked up Jay and they went to the mall to get Stephanie a birthday gift Adnan leaves his phone in the car with Jay so Adnan could call him later Leaves the car with Jay so that Jay could pick him up after Adnan killed Hae (if this was true, why didn’t Jay take the “I’m going to kill that bitch” seriously?) Adnan calls and says Hae is dead and he’s at Best Buy When he gets to Best Buy, Adnan opens Hae’s trunk and to show Hae’s body and they ditch the car then hang out (buy weed, drive around and make calls) Dropped Adnan back off at school so he was seen there (track practice) After practice Jay picks up Adnan Hae’s family calls people because she is missing and they are worried- Adnan included in call list After the call they go to Jay’s, get shovels, pick up Hae’s car from the Park and Ride, then go to Leakin Park to bury Hae (7-8 pm) Jay says he didn’t want to help but he does Takes 20-25 minutes to dig a hole is about 6 inches; equal work digging the hole
6. Why is Jay’s story so important to the case? Because he told them new information. 7. Do you think the cop’s line of questioning is fair? Does he ask leading questions? Make statements that Jay agrees with? Does he assume things or infer things for Jay? (IE. “So Adnan was bragging then?”) Yes, I think he is aking all the necessary questions. 8. Do you think this impacts Jay’s testimony? If so, how? Yes, it makes him look like he is a bad guy. 9. Would you have asked Jay anything else? Do you believe Jay?
