Yusuf 3 Handmaid’s Tale is centered on how the oppressive forces women to portray themselves as holy and submissive at the cost of their freedom and their individuality. Although the examples of the hardships women face provided in this essay are characteristic of the past, it doesn’t mean that millions of women around the world don’t face these types of obstacles today. Many people attempt to disregard feminists and activists who advocate for gender equality and better representation, but these people should remember that without women, life as we know it would cease to exist. Perhaps, we all should spend time to value the women in our lives and their sacrifices.
