This causes people to avoid receiving proper healthcare. Many solutions have been tried or are currently being discussed to ensure inequality within the healthcare system do not exist. Historically, urban areas would create community-based health clinics that were free or low cost in low income areas that would ensure people below the poverty line would receive healthcare. New Jersey created a 501 non profit company called UHIP (Urban Healthcare Initiative Program) was created in 2010. This program was created to educate inner city residents about health problems, promote preventative healthcare, regular medical screenings and assistance coordinating healthcare services. The WIC (women, infant, children) program provides education, checkups and healthy food vouchers for pregnant women and children until they turn five years old. All of these programs still exist and combat lower class Americans suffering due to inequality. A
