obtain on each exam will be accessible in the Blackboard grade-book I update. Please give me at least three business days to complete any necessary grade curving. There are absolutely no "make-up" exams offered in this course for any reason (the same goes for requests to take exams "early" and "late") . In other words, you must take the exams during the officially scheduled times they are programmed into Blackboard. You have the optional comprehensive fifth exam that you can take if, for any reason, you are not able to take one of the first four exams. I am often asked what proportion of exam material is based on the narrated lectures and what proportion is based on the textbook readings. This is always a difficult question to answer precisely because there is considerable, but by no means complete, overlap between my narrated lectures and the Goldstein text. However, I would say that on average, 30% of each exam is drawn from material presented in both my narrated lectures and the Goldstein textbook, 30% is drawn from material that is covered in lecture but not in the textbook (including in-lecture demonstrations), and 40% is drawn from material that is covered in the textbook but not in my narrated lectures. Based on the percentages above, definitely do not neglect the Goldstein text, as a substantial proportion of the topics covered on exams (40%) will be drawn from exclusive coverage in those pages. As far as the textbook material goes, I will try to draw from the key concepts discussed in each chapter, and not have you dwell on small details; one good way to check your learning for these key concepts is to review them after reading each chapter (a list of "Key Terms" is provided at the end of each chapter). Practice Exam Questions : On the Monday of the week before each exam (except the optional comprehensive Exam 5), I will upload a set of about 20 multiple-choice questions, with solutions, that will provide you with some practice for the exams. The questions will be contained within Word documents that I upload to the Blackboard folder entitled, "Practice Exam Questions." Please note that these practice questions are not meant to be a comprehensive test of your preparedness for each exam, only a quick, general check of your study progress. Extra-Credit Mini-Quiz: To give you with an opportunity to earn extra credit, as well, I will provide the class with an extra-credit mini-quiz, worth 15 points on the 200-point grading scale of the class, 3

1.8.17 that draws on material from Chapter 11 (Language) narrated lecture and textbook readings. This optional extra-credit mini-quiz will run concurrently on Blackboard with optional Exam 5 during Finals Week (Tuesday, May 2nd at 12:05 a.m. to Friday, May 5th at 11:55 p.m.). Please note that if you take optional comprehensive Exam 5, I will include questions from the language lecture and Chapter 11; if you are taking only Exams 1-4 and do not wish to take the EC quiz, then you do not need to study the narrated lecture or Chapter 11.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
