If the error-workflow process arrives at a stop step, then error handling is considered failed. The workflow process remains in the In Error state. The error- workflow process cannot handle the error. Error The original error code is returned to the caller of the workflow process. Options for Developing a Workflow Process Handling Errors Siebel Business Process Framework: Workflow Guide Version 8.1, Rev A 171 How Errors Are Handled for a Subprocess If a subprocess encounters an error, and if there is an error-workflow process defined for the subprocess in the Error Process Name property, then the error-workflow process finishes with one of the outcomes described in Table 27 . Recovery for a Workflow Process That Has Failed For information about how to define recovery for a failed workflow process, see “About the Workflow Recovery Manager” on page 246 . Table 27. Error Handling When an Error-Workflow Process Is Defined for a Subprocess Situation Error Process State Error Code Result The error- workflow process handles the error successfully. Completed Not applicable If the error-workflow process arrives at an end step, then error handling is considered successful. The subprocess also terminates with a Completed state, then control returns to the main workflow process. The main workflow process continues to execute from the next step. The error- workflow process tries to handle the error, but fails with a different error. In Error The new error code, which you defined in the stop step, is returned to the subprocess. If the error-workflow process arrives at a stop step, then error handling is considered failed. Both the error-workflow process and the main workflow terminate with the In Error state.

Siebel Business Process Framework: Workflow Guide Version 8.1, Rev A Options for Developing a Workflow Process Using Batch Processing 172 Using Batch Processing A workflow process can be run in batch by running the Workflow Process Batch Manager (WfProcBatchMgr) server component. Executing a workflow in batch allows you to execute the actions in a workflow for multiple records. If using the Workflow Process Batch Manager, then be sure to define the business object with which the workflow process is associated. You must also use a search specification in order to locate the business component records that are referenced or manipulated. NOTE: It is recommended that only a service workflow process or a 7.0 workflow process be run in batch mode. Table 28 describes parameters for the Workflow Process Batch Manager. For more information on running a workflow process in batch, see Siebel System Administration Guide .
