affects the construction of a message which gives credence to Mark McLuhan’s “the medium is the message” [CITATION Bol961 \p 339 \l 1033 ].

3. What key themes and/or concepts covered in the unit do you think are raised by your remediation? Why/How? Detail the key issues, themes or concepts you think your remediation engages with. You may use the following questions as a guide for exploring the connections between your remediation and the course themes. In what ways does your remediation reflect or comment on these issues? Does your remediation exemplify certain trends or developments in new media? In what ways? Does your remediation suggest the continued importance of more traditional media? In what ways? Does your remediation suggest or represent a different relationship between production, distribution and/or consumption than the original text? In what ways does your remediation project reflect, illustrate, or contradict the unit readings on contemporary media? The key themes and concepts that are explored by my remediation project are “Digital media”, “Convergence and participatory culture”, “Copyright and Fair use” by implementing elements within the remediated texts that reflect upon said ideas Firstly, my remediation is an example of digital media as it is a digital video composed of digital audio and images, produced using software programs like window’s video editor and distributed through an internet platform in YouTube to be consumed by other online users[CITATION Rey18 \p 37-38 \l 1033 ] .Secondly, the merging of Ted Kaczynski’s essay with a voiceover rendition and visuals to generate the video shows us the convergence of multiple media platforms as well as transforming an audience member like me into a producer/distributor of media content[CITATION Jen06 \p 2-4 \l 1033 ]. Finally, the remediation covers copyright and fair use via crediting and referencing of the work and also by distributing the remediation for educational purposes only, which makes it fair use based on copyright laws[CITATION Col081 \l 1033 ]. My remediation shows us the implementation of old media into new forms of media platforms which demonstrates us that traditional media is still valuable even in the new media environment. This is because remediation is founded upon taking traditional media and refashioning it into a new media platform, meaning traditional media is a requirement for the process of remediation [CITATION Fle14 \p 2 \l 1033 ]. Thus, Traditional media will continue to be important as long as it is remediated within new media. The remediation represents a different relationship between the production and distribution compared to the original text as the remediated text as its production and distribution are structured to communicate the message visually unlike the original in which the production and distribution were designed to verbally communicate the message.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
