They have transformed the lives of numerous citizens in the developing nations. Besides, oceans are equally important for food security and jobs. Communities that live near the oceans depend on fish and fish products as the primary source of nutrition. On the same note, fisheries produce roughly 160 million tons of fish to generate about $130 billion in exports while securing access to nutrition for billions of people (Crook et al. 55). A lot of households benefit from the business in the form of jobs in the industries responsible for the processing and export of fish. Generally, healthy oceans, coasts, and fresh water ecosystems are crucial for the economic growth and food production.

The rich individuals across the world view the coastal region as one of the best destinations to spend a holiday. The natural ecosystem involving aspects such as cool breeze air, excellent sunshine, and the ever silent atmosphere attracts most people. There is a wide array of activities that entertain visitors in these regions such as skiing, surfing, coastal culture, and beach football among others (Gruber 152). Therefore, people view coastal regions as avenues for recreation and can spend a lot of time enjoying the atmosphere of seaside environment during vacations. Apart from the provision of recreation, ocean regions improve the global economy through the promotion of tourism. Countries that are connected to the ocean have a higher influx of tourists than the landlocked nations. A large proportion of these tourists are interested in the coastal areas to enjoy the various benefits that the ocean region provides (Crook et al. 57). One of the attractions is the presence of unique aquatic life. The marine area is the home to numerous creatures that are interesting to see. As a result, many tourists prefer these regions to experience the fascinating life of numerous sea organisms. Unlike the dry land, the sea has a collection of a wide variety of organisms that differ in terms of shape, size, and character. Some of them like the star fish are captivating to view and can also provide mixed reactions of fear that many people find enjoyable.
