The therapy department is responsible for the organization's recovery care and the associated costs for retraining patients to care for themselves. The VBP plan directly affects the facility’s level of reimbursement and the therapy dept is one of the front-lines in delivering quality patient care. They will be assisting the nursing staff in monitoring and managing the patients’ experiences throughout their stays and communicating to the nurses the correct use of the proper assistive device for each patient. They are thus improving patient outcomes and satisfaction by

These changes will help in reducing costs for the facility.Physicians are the primary controller of a patients comfort and care during the stay in a facility. When prescribing treatments, therapy or medication, the cost will be considered in the choices with their patients as well as the well being. Specifying the right therapy could assist in pain management and speed a recovery time allowing the patient to return home quickly. This reduces the cost to Medicare and the facility. It aids in reducing falls, controlling pain and maintains a high level of patient satisfaction. C 2 Preparation for ImplementationHuman resource department acquires a good quality and qualified labor force and assists with maintaining functional working relationships among the employees of the facility. The department attempt to ensure that there is adequate staff in throughout the facility and they work together as one unit. This will include Nurses and Therapists. Part of the hiring process will include the information of VBP implemented by the facility and informing candidates of the training expectations upon hire. This will be adopted as an ongoing process to be in place within 6 months. Finance department targets reducing wasteful practices from all departments of the facility which reduces cost stimulating the realization of VBP plan. The finance department also focuses on improving the quality of the services offered through allocating finances for the training of thefacility employees. Members of this team will work together and develop a training program to not only introduce VBP, but providing opportunities to improve the wasteful areas of patient care. Members of this department will be responsible for maintaining currency of the informationand update as needed.
HEALTHCARE BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT 20The MDS department aim at researching and collecting relevant data, ensuring that the information reaching the staff is correct and accurate for the proper education and the formation of a team in the facility. Will develop the statistical information needed from previous patients to support the scheduling of post rehabilitation follow up appointments and how it will reduce the risk of readmission to the acute. It will be the responsibility of the MDS Department to keep administration up to date on the progress of the statistics after one year to determine how effective the training is. These statistics will assist in improving the education for the staff to improve where needed to maintain compliance.
