for your business to become successful. Goal Setting “The most effective way to raise a trainee’s motivation is by setting goals” (Casico, 2013). By setting goals it allows the trainee to see the steps of learning by passing monuments that they have set forth. The goal theory, stated by Casico is the premise that a known goal set by a person determines their behavior. In business this is extremely effective as your employees have something to work towards and is committed to reaching their set goals. Behavior Modeling The old adage of monkey see, monkey do is, an example of behavior modeling. In business if others are motivated with synergy to perform and succeed – those actions or feelings will be passed onto others. Casico describes behavior modeling as, “when the model is rewarded for

TRAINING PLAN 6 behavior and when the rewards are things the imitator would like to have.” Meaningfulness of the Material Now the goals have been set, and a likeminded model is in place, the next step to maximize the learning experience is having the material be meaningful to the learner. By using relevant examples and molding the learning experience to the learner create a bond that helps trainees see the overall picture within the learning experience (Casico, 2013). Practice With the learning structure in place, practice is the only way the trainee is able to grasp the new material. “Anyone learning a new skill or acquiring factual knowledge must have an opportunity to practice what he or she is learning.” (Casico 2013).
