Strategies to Protect Coral Reefs Keeping various threats to coral reefs in mind, it is important to develop some strategies for their protection. The first strategy suggested for the protection of coral reefs is so crucial, not only for coral reefs but for global environment as well. This strategy is to spread awareness amongst the global community that burning of fossil fuels in too much quantity is polluting the environment due to release of too much carbon dioxide, which pollutes the environment and plays its part in global warming. If global community can work together to decrease the level of global warming, then issue of climate change can also get better, and all of these things will help to protect coral reefs. The other strategy should be to conserve water along with sustainable fishing practices. The extensive fishing is harmful for coral reefs survival, so fishing practices should be controlled with some restrictions. Moreover, less use of water will release less amount of waste water back into the sea [Bru18] How to Implement Protection Strategies The above mentioned strategies are good ones to protect the survival of coral reefs. But there is question mark, whether these strategies have the capability to be applied in real world situations. The answer is “yes”, the world community can work together to achieve the success of these strategies. The strategies can be implemented by various authorities on local and global level, and people must also be given awareness about the importance of coral reefs for planet earth and human life. The first strategy to reduce global warming can be guided by local and international authorities. Some laws should be made to reduce the use of burning fossil fuel and stop throwing waste into the seas. The second strategy can be implemented through laws like ensuring sustainable fishing practices, but it can also be voluntary as well. Moreover,

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
