Strategies to Protect Coral ReefsKeeping various threats to coral reefs in mind, it is important to develop some strategiesfor their protection. The first strategy suggested for the protection of coral reefs is so crucial, notonly for coral reefs but for global environment as well. This strategy is to spread awarenessamongst the global community that burning of fossil fuels in too much quantity is polluting theenvironment due to release of too much carbon dioxide, which pollutes the environment andplays its part in global warming. If global community can work together to decrease the level ofglobal warming, then issue of climate change can also get better, and all of these things will helpto protect coral reefs. The other strategy should be to conserve water along with sustainablefishing practices. The extensive fishing is harmful for coral reefs survival, so fishing practicesshould be controlled with some restrictions. Moreover, less use of water will release less amountof waste water back into the sea [Bru18]How to Implement Protection StrategiesThe above mentioned strategies are good ones to protect the survival of coral reefs. Butthere is question mark, whether these strategies have the capability to be applied in real worldsituations. The answer is “yes”, the world community can work together to achieve the successof these strategies. The strategies can be implemented by various authorities on local and globallevel, and people must also be given awareness about the importance of coral reefs for planetearth and human life. The first strategy to reduce global warming can be guided by local andinternational authorities. Some laws should be made to reduce the use of burning fossil fuel andstop throwing waste into the seas. The second strategy can be implemented through laws likeensuring sustainable fishing practices, but it can also be voluntary as well. Moreover,
CORAL REEFS5conservation of water is another method, which is truly voluntary in nature. People should
