3.6 Development Tools and materialsThe project will require the following technical specifications:Software specifications|P a g e
A responsive and fast browser.Hardware specificationsProcessor of 1.9 GHz and above. At least 2GB of RAM memory.A display of at least 1024 x 768 resolution.Internet connection.3.7 System Development MethodologyThe researcher employs waterfall methodology in development of the proposed system. Inwaterfall, each development process that flows like a waterfall through all phases of aproject (analysis, design, development, and testing, for example), with each phase completelywrapping up before the next phase begins as per Chari, K. and Agrawal, M., (2018) outline. The following illustration is a representation of the different phases of the Waterfall Model.|P a g e
Figure 1: Waterfall modelThe sequential phases in Waterfall model are:Requirement Gathering and analysis. The researcher will carry out this process to defineusers requirements and be able to collect the requirements in the same way the users areintending to convey them and later analyze them.System Design − The requirement specifications from first phase are studied in this phase andthe system design is prepared. This system design helps in specifying hardware and systemrequirements and helps in defining the overall system architecture. In this scenario it will helpthe developer in developing the system.Implementation − With inputs from the system design, the system is first developed in smallprograms called units, which are integrated in the next phase. Each unit is developed andtested for its functionality, which is referred to as Unit Testing. The developer will carry outthis activity to ensure that the system is working as expected.|P a g e
Integration and Testing − All the units developed in the implementation phase are integratedinto a system after testing of each unit. The developer is expected to carry out post integrationof the entire system and test it for any faults and failures.Deployment of system – After the developer has achieved the above phases, he or she isexpected to release the actual system to the market to carry out its functions.Maintenance − There are some issues which come up in the client environment. To fix thoseissues, developer is expected to release patches. Also, enhance the product some betterversions are released. The developer maintains the system to deliver these changes in thecustomer environment. All these phases are cascaded to each other in which progress is seen as flowing steadilydownwards (like a waterfall) through the phases. The next phase is started only after thedefined set of goals are achieved for previous phase and it is signed off, so the name"Waterfall Model". In this model, phases do not overlap.
