Describe some of the challenges or obstacles you foresee as an online student, and explain  how you will set yourself up for success.  Tip:  Refer to the  7 Tips for Online Success  you read  about in the Unit 1 Challenge area ( minimum one paragraph,  ten  complete sentences ).       One of the challenges I am facing as an online student is definitely time management.  In my first week at Kaplan I have found that I have made the time for school despite my  busy schedule. However, I repeatedly found myself working on only one course. It was  at the top of the list so I just went right to it.     I set myself up for success by creating a schedule of what I will do when for each  class. Being unsure of how long each task will take me I chose to set my goal on a  specific activity for the day rather than a certain amount of time per course each day.  This way I insure that I will spend the time needed to do all tasks correctly as I will not go  to bed at night until the task(s) are completed.     I also set the precedence for myself to log into the discussion board for each class,  read the latest posts and respond to no less than 1 person each night before I go to bed.  This will ensure that each class receives no less than 7 responses per week from me  and also insures that I am gaining the knowledge that the other students and the  instructor have to share. I will attempt more but that is my minimum.        Another challenge I foresee is that I have trouble remembering things. I  understand things fine but I have trouble internalizing them. I remembered only 8 words  out of the 20 on the video and I had to struggle to think of those. He did give me a good  tip for remembering though, put things in story form. I also am going to look into some  other things to help me improve. It never even occurred to me that they were out there  until the video.

What students are saying

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
