Financial allocations ensure that the program will be in a competitive position to recruit and retain qualified faculty. Annual appropriations provide for innovations and changes necessary to reflect current concepts of education in the discipline. The Commission assesses the adequacy of financial support on the basis of current appropriations. The financial resources identify stable sources of funding for the program and the degree of dependence upon a given funding source is based upon the stability of that source. 1-3 The sponsoring institution must ensure that support from entities outside of the institution does not compromise the teaching, clinical and research components of the program.
