Wrinkled Fingertips Doing a cross-species comparison of humans and macaque monkey finger tips, they both have wrinkly tips Wrinkled Fingers act as treads w/ no nerve damage when your hand feels wet, so your brain tells them to get wrinkly to give us traction the traction helps divert the water and helps fingers stick to things better this probably evolved in primates long time ago, not a uniquely human adaption Can we reverse engineer human behavior? Some psychological adaptations are easier to understand than others, but its easy to get things wrong ascribing causality to correlation The most common function for nausea is to get something harmful out of your body Can we reverse engineer human behavior? Natural selection of food preferences Are people using spices to reduce parasite load in food There’s an idea that does spicy food kill bacteria: correlation study In all countries studied, no matter the temperature, there were more spices in meat dishes (more parasites) than vegetarian And more parasites in colder places than hotter, so we see results displaying this We don’t know if they are a causal relationship, its just a correlation

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
