Travis Kalanick is definitely more of the hard-hitting and assertive type when interacting
with others, backing down from a fight only when he is near the edge of defeat.
Complaints from employees both in the office and drivers have had unpleasant and
unfortunate situations with Kalanick. His persevering attitude and obsession with
winning don’t even shift when his biggest supporters of his company suggest he needs to
change.

Mr. Kalanick exercises a Forcing style when it comes to conflict resolution. A man that is
obsessed with winning is of very little concern for meeting the needs of others and will
do whatever he thinks is necessary, even if it is wrong for his company.

Travis lacks amicability, while he is very intelligent, he is not always right, and I believe
that he is unwilling to entertain ideas from others if they don’t line up with his own

vision. He could improve his adjustment personality, being able to appropriately and
positively express his emotions in a way that didn’t create an uncomfortable workplace
would be beneficial to him as a leader as well. He does exhibit high surgency, he knows
how to be in a power position and is extremely ambitious.
