11. You have an offer from a vendor to outsource your entire supplies function. How would you  evaluate that offer? The HCO should evaluate that offer by looking more into their credentials and  history, as a requirement and obligation.  The organization has to assure quality  and effectiveness to their patients and if they don’t have contracted vendors to  support the supplies to doctors and nurses than it would be difficult to achieve  quality care metrics and desired patient outcomes.  The six dimensions of service  can be used to evaluate this offer and calls for coordination and efficiency  between a CSS and providers to lower costs, increase output and productivity,  meet demands, and satisfy both the patients and physicians.  A vendor that is  offering superior service on these dimensions has to be looked at by the HCO  because it is their responsibility to do so.  If the HCO already has a current  vendor or supplier it is their ethical obligation to give the current supplier or  vendor a chance to correct a situation that is not meeting the needs of the HCO  or patients.  12. Describe the Finance Department’s role in the HCO. Page 419 financial management in the modern healthcare organization controls all the aspects; post in  collects all revenues; settles all financial obligations; arranges all funding; and makes major contributions to  strategic planning, performance measurements, and cost control. The text states the purpose of the financial system is to support the enterprise in five different ways: 1. recording and reporting transactions that change the value of the firm 2. assisting operations in setting and achieving performance improvements 3. performing a financial analysis of new business opportunities, new programs, and asset positions to  assist governance in strategic planning 4. arranging capital and operating funds to implement a governance decisions 5. guard assets and resources against that, waste, or loss, and guard the information against distortion 13. Marketing is a major component of promoting a health care organization. Explain the  marketing process in the HCO and give examples of the marketing requirements for an HCO.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
