4 Section B: Strategic Communication Plan Instructions: •You must answer Section B. •This section is worth 50% of the total exam mark. •This section should be between 800 (minimum) and 1000 (maximum) words The issue in the exam is the ongoing community impact of hay fever (allergic rhinitis) on families with young children in Western Australia. Hay Fever is a common illness affecting 1 in 10 children and this number appears to be rising. Hay Fever has similar symptoms to other illnesses such as the common cold and as such families may not always know when to seek expert medical advice or attention in emergency situations. This can lead to serious complications. You are a strategic communication officer for the Telethon Kids Institute, working with the Respiratory Environmental Health team on a new community engagement programme aimed at raising awareness of and providing information on different types of common respiratory illnesses, with the focus on hay fever as a start. Your job is to develop a plan that addresses the real life impacts of hay fever on young children and their families for the 2020 hay fever season. In the real exam you will be given a set of instructions to follow, questions/points to address (which carry equal marks) and some background information. You should undertake your own background research on the issue and the organisation as part of your preparation for this section. -health/respiratory-environmental-health/ END OF PRACTICE EXAM.
