Montemayor PAIRED: INRW/ENGL 1301 – FALL 2017 Group 9)- Will analyze THREE THEMES (include Symbolism) in “A Peaceful Woman Explains Why She Carries a Gun” and the film: Frequency The main purpose of this essay is to make thematic connections between the film, THE WORDS and one of the three short stories listed. Not only explain to the audience how each of the four items are portrayed in both the short story and film, but also explain what the significance of each one is. What might have the author/writer been thinking at the time he/she brought in these particular themes to his/her literary work. Also, compare them to each other. In other words, once you finish giving examples and explaining the significance of each theme, explain if these portrayals are similar between print and film, or if they are different. …and how so? LENGTH OF ESSAY: If the group has two [2] members, the essay will be 3 to 4 pages long. If the group has three [3] members, the essay will be 5 to 6 pages long.
