(Lakshminarasimahan, 2011) This is one of the very pieces an employee referral program is meant to enhance. Suba goes on to explain how one can maintain hiring relatives but also avoid decreasing morale. In essence ensuring the relative goes through the same hiring process, not being involved in the interview process or panel, and if hired, ensures the relative knows the importance of the company rules. (Lakshminarasimahan, 2011)The last big weakness I found with referral programs was noted by Brian Westfall of Software Advice. He mentions through a survey conducted, nearly 45% of respondents stated that while their company has an employee referral program, they do not partake in it simply because they do not know anyone who fits. (Westfall, 2015) The image below taken from his post is a recap of the survey:

Employee Referral ProgramsNguyen13(Westfall, 2015)In essence, it is imperative to derive a way to let employees know of certain open jobs that need filled in conjunction with an understanding of what type of characteristics the organization looks for. (Elliraz, 2013) I find this highly intriguing as earlier my research discussed providing stories as one of the primary steps towards development. This may also help employees understand the right type of people to refer to the organization in addition to some “do and don’t refer” written literature. ConclusionAs showcased from the research provided in this paper, the whole referral program from beginning (research) to end (Implementation) is a vigorous and daunting process, which will render a promising reward for the organization overall. Nonetheless, understanding the process as a whole, the study of what types of employee referral programs are being used in the market, and the weaknesses of such a program, one should have the ability to mash this together and formulate their own program. It is important to note that the research provided in this paper camefrom a vast amount of resources; however, each played a vital role in uncovering answers to the prominent questions surrounding each section of the referral program research. I can say that the overall research will certainly help me devise a strong referral program for the Cardinal Health atHome brand.
