It is possible to be overweight but probably not frankly obese and control blood glucose and insulin well enough to avoid raised total cholesterol. Some have low triglycerides and a high ratio of HDL to LDL. Coronary Heart Disease- Upon the bogy having excess cholesterol in the blood, it tends to build in artery walls, leading to a disease called atherosclerosis. The arteries experience slowed blood flow and narrowed. 2 If there is insufficient carriage of oxygen to the heart by the blood, an individual will experience a heart attack.
