7. In a short essay outline the DNS query process. What are the two types of queries? The DNS query process is as an activity that is performed by a device configured to a network which tries to identify an IP address for a specified DNS name. Usually, this process occurs when a networking device tries to send a DNS query to one of its servers that runs with both ISP’s DNS. From such approaches, the DNS servers will then match its database with the aim of answering the host’s query authoritatively for a complete process. However, if the server will not be able to answer the host’s query authoritatively, it will then approach its cache found on the previous queries. If it finds any matching queries on its cache, the DNS will be able to answer the host’s query in a non-authoritative manner with regards to it’s the complete processes and that of the cache. Recursive query and iterative query are the two types of queries. 8. Create a table showing the DNS resource record types and functions. Research the Global Names Zone(GNZ) feature. In a short essay explaining this feature including a brief background, advantages, disadvantages, and your opinion on the usefulness of it. GlobalNames Zone (GNZ) was introduced by Microsoft to serve as a windows server that provides strategies for administrators to add label names to their DNS servers, thereby making it possible for networking devices to resolve those names by excluding DNS suffix queries. Its advantages include; reduction of administrative overheads, label-names resolutions, and standards that are open. It also supports
