different background or culture and follows his or her rules truly but is being dislike or judged by other people because of their different life styles. Culture is important for every individual. It shows their identity, what they believe in and what they stand for. Weight discrimination is increasing daily. Weight discrimination occurs in employment settings and daily interpersonal relationships as often as race discrimination. It is almost as common as racial discrimination. Most of the time weight discrimination mostly happens to women more often than men. Some doctors sometimes become very disrespectful to those patients that are not the size that they think they should be and this is an example of why appearance discrimination should qualify as a civil right issue because no one under any circumstances has the right to treat someone else that way. Either in the work place, they do not hire people or if they are lucky enough to be hired, their salary is cut back and they sometimes lose higher positions all because of their weight. Appearance discrimination only brings harm and low self-esteem to the person or the people that is being discriminated against. A person’s appearance on the outside does not determine who they are and what they can or cannot do. The content of their heart, the content of their character, how they carry themselves and what they do when no one is watching shows who they really are therefore their appearance should not matter and appearance discrimination most definitely should be made a civil right issue.
