Food, materials, clothes, etc . were sent to the men fighting for their country . Women helped build planes, tanks and various other war instruments to contribute their help sense they could not fight . Children gathered aluminum and other scrapes that could be recycled and use in the war effort . I think this war helped change the mind set of many Americans . Many people hated the war, they protested against the government because men all over the country were being drafted to fight for the allies . Personally I would hate to be drafted, but from the other side of the argument I would love to help my country . I think that it had to be done; the government had to show that they were not weak and would do what had to

Chapman 2 be done to win . Think of it this way, winning does not just earn bragging rights or the title of world power; it preserves a way of life and freedom for all who want it . That is why I think that protesters should not just jump to the nay saying, I think that people need to listen to the facts a little more .
