Therefore, I expect my players to have unity and be able to challenge each other in what they do. Systems and plays will be taught and they must accept and agree upon what I choose to do. Everyone must play the same game with them same mentality. Your biggest competitor is yourself. Be accountable for your efforts and let your teammates push you to become the best you can be. Whether it be in the weight room or on the ice encouraging one to push themselves to finish that rep or length of the ice
PAULMERT 3 we must constantly challenge each other in order to improve. This not only goes for the players but also myself, I will give 110% in all of my actions as a coach. I will give a full effort in developing practice plans, being fully prepared, and helping each player develop. I want to be a successful coach, but no one is perfect; so, having the determination to want to have a high work ethic and push my players who can push me will help result in success. Finally, all of my aspects will correlate to build a winning mentality. I want my players to be hungry for a win and let their hard work speak to their success. The players need to know that they are in the highest competitive league and therefore winning matters. I want to be able to teach the lessons of hard work in order to be rewarded. Our reward should be success. If my players can develop with this coaching philosophy, they will be able to grow with these statements throughout their lives; which can help them become the best versions of themselves. Coaching StyleMy coaching style is going to take form of the cooperative style. I want to build a strong relationship with each and every single one of my players. Having that ability to coach the same sex team makes this much easier. I want my players to look to me for advice in and out of the rink. I chose to coach with a cooperative style for this reason exactly. While coaching life this my players are able to be involved in decision making with the guidance of the coaching staff and captains. When players have the ability be included in decisions, they are more likely to me empowered to achieve goals. This is because they had a say and therefore cannot be upset and or hinder on a decision they do not agree with. My players will have a voice and I want them to feel as if each idea, objection or decision that they make is genuinely accepted and I am interested in what each player feels upon each situation. It is important to me that my players have a voice in team wide decisions as it ultimately is their team and the chosen decision will affect them. The cooperative style also brings out leadership capabilities. I will be able to see who is able to speak up and I can encourage each player to have input on situations in order to develop us as a team and those individually. The cooperative style will also emphasize problem solving, decision-making and tactical thinking within the team. these are the skills that need to be promoted as they are crucial within a team sport, and these skills will also be able to be carried outwards I the future.
