Through this Research Design, we came up with a questionnaire which was used for
the interview with the owner done by Ms. Justene. With the information gathered, the
researchers decided to create a business proposal based on the problems discovered.

Research Locale
The study will be conducted at Leonora Complex, Ponciano, Davao City. The
inventory control system of the business and its recording of transactions will be the
focus of the study because of the organization’s need for a better, more efficient and
effective system to be adopted for more security and control.

Data Gathering Procedure
The data for this research were collected using interview process. The first step is to
ask permission from the owner when is her free time to conduct an interview. Second is
to prepare the questions to be asked. Third, is to analyze the data gathered and identify
the problem/s. Fourth, is to analyze the problem discovered. Lastly, is to recommend a
solution to the problem and make a business proposal for better outcomes in the entity.

The kind of business we chose is direct selling. And this kind of business may incur
some problems such as auditing some files and the segregation of duties. In our
observation, the company has a problem in having a small set of employees which is
the reason of having difficulties on segregation of duties.

Since this company is direct selling, we
suggest that instead of their old method,
they should use barcodes and scanners. It would easily identify each product and would
be more time efficient compared to writing the product one by one using receipts. They
should assign a unique barcode to identify the product name and direct selling
company; since nowadays, retailers utilize bar coding for inventory control, which is
crucial to the success of their businesses. Inventory cycle counts, point-of-sale
checkout, purchasing, and sales analysis are just a few of the benefits of a retail
barcode system.
The barcodes then would be recorded in a worksheet and then printed.
It would be most helpful in a wholesale company because they will be receiving orders

the product would make their work
