All of the theorists that I have described define love in different ways but they all have a common ground. They all feel that love is biological and is created in the brain. It starts out as what is attractive as described by Dr. Palfi in a lecture this year and then it cultivates into a relationship. The relationship flourishes and then the individuals fall in love. “The heart feels a mixture of passion, lust, fear, sin, love, worry, desire, unpredictable behavior, strong

overwhelming emotion (Feelings of Insanity, 2005, p.1).” Is what you call insanity of the heart? It seems like the true feeling of love tends to give us all a sense of insanity which takes over the mind, body, and spirit. When you love a person you often tend to devote yourself completely to that person and see what you want to see and tune everyone else out. You become blind to the world around you only seeing what is that your heart desire. So love is “merely a madness and deserves a dark house and a whip as madman do.” Marilyn French a famous author once said “Well, love is insanity. The ancient Greeks knew that. It is the taking over of a rational and lucid mind by delusion and self-destruction. You lose yourself, you have no power over yourself, you can't even think straight (French, 2000, p.1). Love takes over the mind and will make you do anything. It is a form of insanity. Insanity is when you aren’t in your correct mind. Love happens when you feel such a strong connection to someone that you are willing to do anything for them. You will do whatever you have to too keep them happy and to be with them. That is why love and insanity is one in the same. Sternberg, Hatfield, Rubin, and Lee all break love down into categories. All of these categories add up to the sum of love. Love cannot be seen before it is happened because it happens naturally. It is a natural phenomena stemming from social and cognitive thinking. It can only be tamed and held in control like that of a madman with a whip References French, M. (n.d.). Well, love is insanity. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
