MODULE 03 WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT – ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY 3 was one ingredient that was studied called thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative used to prevent contamination of multi-dose vials. They did, however, reduce the dosage in children except for some flu vaccines to reduce all types of mercury exposure before studies showed that thimerosal was not harmful. Parents also have concerns about other ingredients, but there is no link between vaccines and ASD. I believe this article helps support my arguments because the Center for Disease Control is a reliable source as it is a government website. Autism is known as a developmental disability that is caused by differences in how the brain functions. I believe this article would be beneficial to all parents that have any concerns with vaccinations. I feel this article supports my thesis; Parents should follow the vaccines schedule to reduce the devastating diseases. "If You Choose Not to Vaccinate Your Child, Understand the Risks and Responsibilities." If you choose not to vaccinate your child, If you choose to decide to reject vaccines, that decision comes with risks towards you, your children and others. A person with a weak immune system is at risk, an infant who is too young to have certain vaccines is at risk, someone with antigens that don’t do their job is at risk, and someone who doesn’t get vaccinated is at risk. Some vaccine- preventable diseases still circulate in the United States. These can be mild to life- threatening. Anytime you or your child go to the doctor, you have that responsibility to others to let the medical staff know that you are not vaccinated, or you have not received the recommended vaccines for your child's age. One example of what can happen if you are not vaccinated is catching Measles. Measles is highly contagious that hours after an infected person has left the same room you were in, an unvaccinated person can get the
