One thing that Norway does that the US does not is have a “restorative justice” program to give the prisoners tools and rehabilitating them after prison. The US just lets prisoners go free and on their own that’s why Prisoners return within 5 years and Norway does not. The system is so different here then Norway. Norway has 21year minimum in Jail when the Us has life sentences depending on what they have done. Probation and Parole has about 7.2 million people on, THAT’S INSANE. There are so many things that cause the overcrowding in the Jails and Prison here in the United States. If the Us had a better system from when a person is out of prison it would help so much more. I know many struggle with finding a job to survive out in the world if they had a job lined up that does not look at background it will keep the jails and prison more clear from those that can actually turn their life around. Topic 3 DQ1 Poverty in urban areas tends to perpetuate social deviance. GCU conducts community outreach to local areas that are struggling with poverty. After reading the GCU Statement on Integrating Faith and Work document, how might the CWV influence the way to address this social problem? Hello Classmates and Professor Castile, Social problems are all over the world and its hard to really keep them at a low level. Urban areas tend to have more problems due to the poverty and low income familys. GCU trys to help with the statement by giving faith back into humanity. Having a outreached partner that cares about the community and cares about humans themselves is something to believe in. I live in a nice neiborhood and just two streets over we have run down houses and have kids

spray painting the walls its crazy to think that one second its good then when its night the neiborhood turns evil. Stuff like this needs to be fixed. Topic 3 DQ2 Investigate and create a list of both informal and formal deviance (things that were/are against the law as well as those against social norms). Identify at a solution/technique/action that was used both historically and used in modern times, to control/react to the deviant behavior you listed. Discuss what the differences are and if the modern solutions are more effective than historical solutions and why modern solutions replaced historical ones. Hello Classmates and Professor Castile, Formal Deviance: Rape, Assaults and Murders Informal Deviance: Picking your nose, standing really close to someone When comparing both forms of Deviance well one is definatly worse then the other. Formal deviance is when a person violates the laws that are put in place by our forefathers and should be abited by when in the eyes of a upholding citizen of our country. When looking at the informa deviance its more of a common respect you should have for yourself. Picking your nose in public… Come on that’s nasty. Its self respect and it needs to stay that way. Deviance comes in all sorts of forms but thses two types are well known Topic 4 DQ1 Consider why persons with disabilities are considered a vulnerable population.
