Underwent a “hiring training” with the Officers and Lucy Rojas at 12pm. Training duration approximately one hour. At 4pm, Tamra Owens, VPSL, and I flew out to LA for UCSA’s October board meeting in UCLA. I took Tamra Owens because I needed someone to serve as a proxy in my place as UCSC’s EVP. Attended the UCSA board meeting October 16, 2017 Held office hours from 3-4:30pm. October 17, 2017 6pm: Got on the University Affairs (UA) call with the other EVP’s. Call duration approximately one hour. 7pm: Attended the weekly SUA Officer meeting. Meeting duration approximately one hour. 8pm: Attended the SUA meeting October 18, 2017 Held office hours per usual. Began interviewing folks for my office - specifically applicants for Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant. October 20, 2017 Continued interviewing folks for Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant Interviewed over eight people within the week. October 21, 2017 Attended the Founders Celebration and made some new connections with campus admin and alumni. October 22, 2017 Spent hours in the office preparing for my meeting with President Napolitano and the UCSA Board of Directors happening on Oct. 23rd. October 23, 2017 Headed over to UCOP in Oakland and met with President Janet Napolitano, Student Affairs, and the Uc Budget team. Meeting duration approximately 4 - 5 hours total. October 25, 2017 Got on a call with FairVoteCA and discussed ways of implementing a ranked choice voting system into Santa Cruz elections. I offered the folks at FairVote the opportunity to come in and present at the Nov. 7 SUA meeting to talk about the benefits of ranked choice voting. Call duration approximately one hour.
