Grace and faith are essential to the Christian worldview because without these two things, one cannot be saved by Jesus and live an eternal life in heaven. Since Jesus is the only way to salvation, he decides based upon his judgment if there is justification for one to come to heaven. All humanity must have a relationship with God to make a transformation for not only themselves, but for society as well. Having this relationship with God is serving a purpose, because this is how God guides His people to the righteous path, which leads to salvation, giving humanity their eternal life in heaven. Analysis Believing in the Christian worldview has many benefits, some being that they are guaranteed eternal life by believing in God and Jesus, that since Jesus died for our sins that they are forgiven and that their relationship with God is restored so that they can live a righteous life. Christians obey God and spread His word, the gospel to help others around them and transform society into the original picture that God created. The most confusing part of the Christian worldview is defining morals. “Just as there are different views of truth and knowledge, there are different views of ethics and, therefore, different understandings about which behaviors are moral” (Jibben, 2015, para 39). Everyone has different opinions on what is right or wrong. Some try to justify which sins are worse than others, sure it’s a sin, but not comparable to others. Then there are some that believe a sin is a sin, no matter how big or small. For all are seen equal, no 4
one is better than the other, and that one should repent for their sins. Also, there is a common misconception on how one is saved. Some think that good deeds help one make it to heaven, however that is false. For it is Christian-like for one to perform acts of kindness because that is what Jesus and God want us to do and we should want to if we want to live a fulfilling life and act like Jesus. Christianity influences how one thinks and behaves because their goal is to be like God and to be saved by their faith. Reflection My worldview resides to the Christian worldview. For I believe that God should and always will be the center of my life (Shuster, 2013) and with Him I can accomplish all things. I also believe that if we believe in Jesus our Savior and God, it will lead to our eternal life. We must also follow the Ten Commandments and listen to Jesus’ teachings; it will help us live a successful life. My faith would amount to nothing if Jesus would not have been crucified for our sins to save us, and later be resurrected to show his people that his is the Son of God and to continue to help teach and guide his people. Without crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus we would always be sinful, never be able to wash away any of our sins or be forgiven, and we would not know what would happen after our death. Because of my faith I know what will happen
