Minimum Wage The federal minimum wage is $6.55 per hour effective 7/24/08 The federal minimum wage will be $7.25 per hour effective 7/24/2009 On January 1, 2008 the minimum wage will raise to $8.00 Training Wage-The LAW CA-LEARNERS: Employees during their first 160 hours of employment in occupations, in which they have no previous similar or related experience, may be paid not less than 85% percent of the minimum wage rounded to the nearest nickel.
