Rifkin (2003) claims through “Spiritual Perspectives on Globalization” that “On individual level, globalization is about the promotion of consumer values that feed on the perception that happiness is rooted in material progress, that choice equals the highest freedom, and that being well connected is more important than being deeply connected.” People are choosing and starting to live a materialistic life with many choices of brands and technologies, depending on new technologies and transportation in everyday life, giving less values to the tradition ways of living. As a result, on individual level, globalization is impacting human in both positive way and negative way, making our life easier but also distancing people from each other through technologies.
