Even though bribery is an accepted practice, but the friend remained quiet because she was unable to get a good job after her MBA and maybe all her friends were already interning or working as a training officer in companies. She did not deserve the job due to which she was not shortlisted but she wanted it so badly that even though her father had to pay the bribe for her to get the job, she was contented that she got it. The reason she kept quiet about the bribery is that she wanted others to assume that she was shortlisted based on her own potential. 3) Should employees be hired on the basis of merit or according to how much they can bribe to secure a job? It is important that employees must be hired on the basis of their talent and their potential rather than how much bribe they can pay to secure the job. The managers must ensure that they are ethical in their practices when the hiring process is in place so that this practice is followed

The managers must treat all the applicants equally and must resist the pressure that exists to act in an unethical manner to hire people due to the amount of bribe they can pay rather than merit and potential. Once the managers are able to act in an ethical manner, they are able to reward and encourage the ethical behavior of others and act as an example for other employees who can be future managers.
