The only reason this example came to mind is I still have the note that I left my colleague on her desk on my desk, because it reminds me never to be this vague again. The note said “If you’re not busy, can you grab keys from East desk, bring keys back, label keys and put on keychains?” 1) How are they supposed to know what keys go to the East Desk? 2) Are they bringing back the same keys or different keys? 3) What are the keys for and what does the label need to say? 4) Where do I get these keychains from? What kind of keychains are they supposed to be on?
18 This is a very vague note, and I felt bad later on when she had to call me to get clarification on everything that I had written down! I don’t blame her though, if that note were to appear on my desk, I would have absolutely no idea what it meant. Overall, these questionnaires have made me realize my strengths and weaknesses, and I hope that throughout the rest of the course I am able to improve on these so I can better myself and how I lead others to success.
